Sutton St James Baptist Church has been serving the village for over 200 years - and so has our roof!
Why not sponsor a tile for £5.45 and write an inscription on it to celebrate a birthday or anniversary or in memory of a loved one.
We are a small friendly Baptist Church with a BIG heart where everyone is welcome!
Our Church family ranges from our youngest twin boys born in December 2019 to our oldest who is 98 and many of our family are very new to church life!
Our aim is to open the doors and love people and our guiding verse for 2020 is Romans 12: 4-5
Our weekly Sunday service starts at 10.45am and everybody is welcome.
The children go out of the service after the first 15 minutes for their own special time of Godly Play.
Refreshments are served after the service and there is plenty of time to get to know people.
The majority of our Sunday services include a Godly Play session for the children where they will have a story, time of wondering, feast, prayer and craft time.
“In most religious education children are told who God is. In Godly Play children discover who God is.”
At SSJBC we collect items all year round which many of us throw away - these help us to support two very good causes Air Ambulance and BMS World Mission.
We will also be collecting again for the Food Bank during Lent.
Please do support us if you are able 🙂
Tuesday 8:45am - 10:30am during term time, aimed particularly at parents who are doing the school run and would like a cuppa once they have dropped the children at school - but everyone welcome.
Thursday 10am - 11.30am, mostly attended by the over 55's - but everyone welcome!
Part of the national Renew Wellbeing network of quiet shared spaces where it's ok not to be ok.
Every Friday from 9am - 1pm. Relax and enjoy a cuppa whilst taking part in some colouring or other crafts.
Maybe have a game of scrabble or do a jigsaw or read the newspaper - or just enjoy the peace in our quiet area. Everyone welcome
