Hooray! We are planning to reopen for a one of service on Easter Sunday @ 10.45am and then reopen for regular worship from Sunday 25th April. It will be essential to book your place in advance and to wear a facemark.
Pre-recorded services will still be available on our
We are a small friendly Baptist Church with a BIG heart where everyone is welcome!
Our Church family ranges from our youngest twin boys born in December 2019 to our oldest who is 99 and many of our family are very new to church life!
Our aim is to open the doors and love people and our guiding verse for 2021 is Isaiah 43: 18-19
Our Sunday services are on YouTube or via DVD as we have taken the decision NOT to reopen whilst we are in Tier 4 - this decision is being kept under constant review.
When we can meet, our services would start at 10.45am with the children going out of the service after the first 15 minutes for their own special time of Godly Play.
Refreshments are served after the service and there is plenty of time to get to know people.
Godly Play is the way that we share the Gospel message with our children. Sadly we have not been able to have an in person session since March 2020 - however Arnie produces a Godly Play story most weeks and all of these can be found on our YouTube Channel along with other specials by Duggy Dug Dug!
“In most religious education children are told who God is. In Godly Play children discover who God is.”
Maundy Thursday is a very special day in the Christian calendar – the day when Jesus first broke bread and shared wine with His disciples and told them that this simple act was something that they should do whenever they met together to remember why He would sacrifice Himself to death on the cross.
It was also the evening that He was betrayed by Judas Iscariot – betrayed with a kiss…….
Good Friday is the day when our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ surrendered to death on the cross so that each one of us could be saved.
It is a day to take some time to reflect on this most amazing act of love - to open your hearts and minds and to ponder the mystery that is Easter until we reach Easter Sunday.
He is Risen! Easter Sunday is a day that changed the history of the world – a day that made it possible for each one of us to have a personal relationship with our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ.
All He asks is that we repent of our sins and choose to follow Him - will you do this today?
Please join Arnie for the wonderful Godly Play story of the Faces of Easter.
Our hope and prayer is that through this simple way of sharing the Gospel message, that this well-known story will come to life for you in a new way and give you something to reflect and ponder on.
We do hope you enjoy watching our SSJBC Easter Circus Special with Duggy Dug Dug and his two puppet helpers!
It is something for all the family regardless of age and includes some great songs with actions and some amazing circus acts all revealing the wonder of Easter in a really fun way!
